Ruth

Saturday I went and got Ruth. First I took pictures of her and her place. Then we came back and wrote a letter to her friends. She wanted to tell her friends where she had moved and to keep in touch with them. It is hard for her to be so far away from her friends. The consolation is she is near Dave and we can spend more time with her.

Exploring the Area

Yesterday afternoon we went out for a ride. Our goal was to get to Micanopy. It is a small town north of here. It is a quaint little town filled with antique and interesting shops. The main street is only a few blocks long. The Herlong mansion is the bed and breakfast in town. It is one of the architectural delights. It is a town where you stroll not walk. It is meant to slow you down to appreciate the day. The sun was out, the temperature was warm and the company was great. Along the way to Micanopy we took the car tour of McIntosh, another small town mostly built in the late 1890's and early 1900's. You can follow a map of the city to identify more than 60 historical homes and buildings. It was fun to see the early style of homes in this city. It was once a thriving orange growing city until a big freeze came and destoyed the trees. One street is built around a big old tree. You must go around the tree to continue down the street. It was a great day enjoying the area.

Things I love

Sunny warm days.
I love to sit on the patio when the day is warm and the sun is out. Everything feels so good. Today it is starting to warm up to normal temperatures after the cool ones last week. I love the way the sun feels on my skin warming it up. I know I can only enjoy it for a few minutes but they are blissful minutes. Sitting out on the patio is so freeing. The noises you hear and the wide open spaces are so nonconfining. Today was a glorious day to enjoy.

Readers

I have decided to only let special friends and family view my blog at this time. I am playing with the settings and figuring out what it is all about. Otherwise it is like public journaling and I am not sure I am ready to be public.

Things I Love

I love to look through the linens when I am out searching. I often collect doilies or other small linens to incorporate into sewing projects. This fall I made chenille Christmas stockings. The cuffs were linens I had been collecting over the past year. I was happy when my youngest daughter took some back to hang on her fireplace in her new condo. I felt that I was there with her in spirit even though I was a long way away on the map.

Flea Marketing

Today was another day of perusing the Flea Market looking for some bling for my projects. Sometimes I start with the idea and sometimes I start with an object that inspires me. Picked up these today.
